Dear colleagues,
It is my great pleasure to invite you to the Summer School of Anesthesiology, organized by the Reference Centre of the Ministry of Health for Multimodal and Experimental Anesthesia, University Hospital Center Sestre milosrdnice, in collaboration with the School of Medicine, University of Zagreb, General Hospital Dubrovnik, and the Association for Continuing Education, Professional Development and Advancement in Anesthesiology, Reanimatology, Intensive Care and Pain Management “Tomislav Halapir”.
Research shows that competency-based education (CBME) is increasingly being implemented in anesthesiology, emphasizing the integration of technical and non-technical skills through simulation and active learning methods.
Simulation-based education has become an essential part of anesthesiology training, enabling clinical staff to practice and refine their skills in a controlled environment, which is particularly beneficial in high-risk scenarios.
During the Summer School of Anesthesiology, the anesthesiology team from University Hospital Center Sestre milosrdnice, together with lecturers from Ireland, Slovenia, University Hospital Center Zagreb and Clinical Hospital Sveti Duh, will present the importance of simulation in anesthesiology education and highlight the role of non-technical skills, team communication, and situational awareness. Simulation workshops will be held in the operating rooms of General Hospital Dubrovnik.
The Summer School of Anesthesiology is intended for residents and specialists in anesthesiology, reanimatology and intensive care medicine, specialized nurses and medical technicians, and may also be of great benefit to other healthcare professionals such as residents and specialists in emergency and internal medicine.
